Viking Update Background Gallery

These background images are for everyone to use! To make them your screen background, click on an image below to get the full size version and decide which one you want. Then select the "download" link to get the zip file for the background, unzip the file, and do your thing. If you don't know how to do this, please refer to your computer, Internet browser, and decompression utility's documentation. Also, make note of the below requirements to use the BMPs. Enjoy!

Windows: Minimum Requirements & Suggestions

Bitmap viewer (standard with Windows)

Windows 95 compliant decompression utility such as PKZip to unzip the the BMPs. Plenty of shareware utilities are available for this. Go to downloadnow.com to find one.

Use 16-bit High Color display setting. If you use 256 color, the image will pixelate and look rather poor.

Save the file to your Windows directory and rename it as the player's first name to see the image as an available background in your Windows setting panel.

Do not use the large images that are available here for viewing as the background image. Windows will convert the image to a 256 color bmp and it will look really bad.

Macintosh: As recommended by a generous fellow who offered this information. We'll let him be known only as "Jim." Follow the below steps:

Download the file.
Use Unzip to open the File.
Using Graphic Converter, they can open the BMP format save as a JPG/JPEG.
Go to your control panel, open desktop pictures and set your new desktop picture with the new Vikings background.
