The game is nationally televised, so fans interested in seeing some of the future Vikings may want to check out the defenses of these two teams and get a look at the young Vikings.
SATURDAY NOTES
* The Vikings released two players Friday -- kicker John Matich and linebacker Ryland Wickman.
* The Vikings will again support the Viking Children's Fund July 14 with its seventh
annual Ride For Life -- a motorcyle rally open to the public. Registration
for the 75-mile ride begins at 9 a.m. July 14 outside the Metrodome and
the ride will begin at 11 a.m. It will run from the Metrodome up Hwy. 35
to Grand Casino-Hinckley.
Many current and former Vikings, including our own fearless leader Bob Lurtsema, are expected to participate. For more information on the ride or to register, call 952.828.6577.
* Former Viking Jay Fiedler was expected to be pushed hard for a starting job in Miami after a lackluster 2000 season, but he has looked so good in minicamp, he once again has the inside track to the starting job.
